how to Create Your Own 3D AI Animated Avatar in 4 Steps

 A step-by-step guide, to creating a realistic 3D Avatar

How it could look like

Hello there! I’ve decided to share with you a new use case for artificial intelligence, that can be implemented quickly.

Today, we will be creating a 3D avatar from the ground up. We will use several AI-powered tools such as MidJourney, ChatGPT, Eleven Labs text-to-speech service, and D-id to animate the 3D character.

Step 1: Write a speech for your animated avatar

This step is pretty straightforward, you’ll need a speech for your avatar. So you either create it by yourself or you can use ChatGPT with the free plan.

Step 2: Create a visual appearance for your avatar

To give our avatar an appearance, we will be using MidJourney on discord. I’ll not be covering how to use it, but I’ll provide an effective prompt that works every time.

Prompt:

You should change the parts in bold, to customize your prompt & avatar.

 

Then, I chose to upscale the second version, but the fourth seemed fine too

Step 3: Transform your text into speech

Eleven Labs is the best text-to-speech service out there, with highly realistic voices. That’s why I’ve used it in this project. You should really check them out.

What’s more, starting at $5 you get the commercial license for the voices you use, and you can create up to 10 custom voices.

Step 4: Animate Your Character

In this section, we will be using the D-ID, an AI capable of animating an image according to a prerecorded speech. It can also do the voice-over by itself, but I’ve used Eleven labs for better results.

1- Open the platform

2- Import the character we created previously

Import the image by clicking the ADD button

3- Import the audio file we created previously

4- Enjoy the results
